The movie ‘A Kid Like Jake’ featuring Priyanka Chopra has been picked for the Sundance Film Festival, to be hosted in January. The Indian actress voiced that the movie is a tale that requires being “told and seen.”
She also tweeted, “When I read the script of ‘A Kid Like Jake’, I knew immediately that this was a story I had to be a part of… A story that needed to be told and seen..And now it’s been selected for Sundance Film Festival!” The actress also commented that she could not hold back the excitement for her fans to view the film. She also added that she was highly grateful to the incredible team of the film with whom she has worked.
She will join stars like Jim Parsons and Claire Danes along with Octavia Spencer, Ann Dowd and Michaela Watkins for the movie, directed by the American director Silas Howard.
The movie revolves around Daniel Pearle’s famous Lincoln Center play with a similar name. The story observes the life of Alex and Greg Wheeler. They have great aspirations for Jake, their four years old son who is intelligent and ahead of his times, but happens to admire Cinderella in place of GI Joe.Judy(Spencer) who is Jake’s preschool director, motivates his parents to emphasize on Jake’s gender different attitude so that he makes a mark for himself and makes an effort to receive a scholarship.
The Sundance Film Festival will be a 10-day event from January 18-28 and covers films from 29 nations.
