Commercial Vehicle Major, Ashok Leyland’s has reported a rise of 51 percent in its total sales for the month of November 2017 at 14,460 units as compared with 9,574 units sold in the same month a year ago.

Ashok Leyland said medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales grew sharply by 54 percent to 10,641 units as compared with 6928 units sold in November 2016.Light commercial vehicle sales increased 44 percent to 3,819 units as compared with 2646 units sold in the same month a year ago.

The automobile giant will set up a bus manufacturing unit in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh where 4,800 buses will be produced per annum, the Chief Minister’s Office has announced. Leyland would set up its plant on a 75-acre site at the Mallavalli Industrial Estate and provide employment to 5,000 people, the release said but did not specify the quantum of financial investment on the unit.
